Military Postal Stationery, by Derrick Slate

Very little has been written about this interesting subject, and material is not easy to find. The Swiss Government first issued envelopes between 1870 and 1899, for use by the Military serving at the borders (postage was free for military personnel) This exhibit covers the postal envelopes and cards issued from 1870 until the end of World War I, and includes a detailed study of the different ‘types’ of postcard printed, illustrating the varieties known to the author.
